Trail Alerts & Updates
​​Know before you go! Sections of the trail may be closed or have other special conditions in effect, including COVID-19 protocols.

NPS's George Washington Memorial Parkway regularly updates alerts and conditions. Parts of the the trail are currently closed. Before heading out onto this section of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail be sure and check for closures and alerts on conditions.

Bles Park in Ashburn, Virginia, and the trail through the park, is closed beginning June 24, 2024 and will remain closed until the Summer of 2025 for improvements.
Visitor Features
There a number of ways to explore and enjoy the PHNST! With various hiking, biking, and/or equestrian paths, the trail provides recreation opportunities for all types of trail users. The PHNST also offers a range of destinations and activities along the trail path, including local, state, and national parks, canoe and kayak launch sites, and other points of interest.
